Our unique stone house set in a charming Turkish village.
The Old Stone House, our beautifully restored 200 year old home is set in Gokcebel, a small village approximately 2 km from Yalikavak town. It's built on the site of an ancient Girel Castle, where remains of the old walls, public baths and cisterns can still be found.
Just a short drive from local beaches and the more cosmopolitan pleasures of Bodrum, the village has not succumbed to modern intrusions, and in the narrow lanes you will still experience Turkish village life at its most authentic.
The House, which sleeps 6, is set on 2 floors with the main living space above and bedrooms and bathrooms below in the cool.
There is a separate dining room for those rare times when you don’t wish to eat outside.
A large roof terrace with Ottoman seating offers extensive views to the sea beyond.
The garden is on several levels, with 3 seating areas and a good-sized private swimming pool. A pergola laden with grapes, roses and jasmine, with barbeque and table for six below, affords perfect shade for those hot and sunny summer days.
This unusual home is for the more discerning holidaymaker seeking privacy and seclusion, yet close to all the restaurants, bars and shops for that perfect stay .
Mulberry Cottage, newly built and attached at one end of the stone house, is completely separate, with its own entrance.
It consists of one living room with 2 sofa beds, an upper level with two further beds, kitchen and two bathrooms, a roof terrace with sea view, a patio garden and private parking space. The cottage is fully air-conditioned.
The Old Stone House can be rented on its own, or with Mulberry Cottage for larger parties of up to 10 people.
