There will be one main tutor, one supplementary and some visiting local artists to help and stimulate you with your painting.
JILL CRAFT – Main Tutor
Jill has earned a reputation as an exceptional genre artist working in all media, but always with an emphasis on draughtsmanship and craft. Sought after as a portrait and landscape painter she has completed many private commissions during her long and successful career. She has also worked as an illustrator for several years, as well as teaching art in several secondary schools and illustration and drawing at the University of East London.
Now, preferring to concentrate on her own painting and drawing, using her travels and observations of urban and country life as an inspiration she has produced lively works of a whimsical nature as well as profound and clearly stated observations of the human condition in the modern age.
She has had several exhibitions in London, Essex, Cambridge and Wales. Jill lives with her husband and 2 grown-up children in their Essex barn conversion, where she continues to work from her large studio.
GÜLAY YÜKSEL – Main Tutor
Gülay graduated from the Institude of Education at Gazi University with a major in Fine Arts in 1973, and completed her degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Eskiehir Anadolu University.
She has lived in Germany for three years, and exhibited in many European museums and art galleries.
At the school in Neuwid-Germany, she trained specifically in teaching art to the partially sighted. Gülay has also held a position as a tutor at the Department of Fine Arts of Middle East Technical University.
She has had 48 individual exhibitions, includes 5 in Germany. She has also participated in several joint exhibitions in and out of Turkey. She was invited to Tescani International Camp 2000 as a guest of the Romanian Government. Two of her works have been exhibited in The George Enescu Museum, as well as numerous works in Izmir State Art and Statue Museum, Eskiehir Anadolu University, The Ministry of Culture of Turkey, collections of several banks and private collections in Romania, USA, Canada, Germany, France and Finland.
Gülay continues to work in her own studio. She is married with 3 children.
ELJAY DICKINS – Supplementary Tutor
A professional graphic designer and artist, Eljay has illustrated several adult and children's books and worked for many UK publishing houses as a designer and layout artist.
She taught in Harrow School of Art and has also worked as a background artist in animated films for Disney and Thames Television. Eljay will also be your hostess during your stay and looks forward to ensure you are well looked after and above all have the best time ever.
